The North Wall Arts Centre: Day after day after day: recent works by Cally Trench and Tineke Bruijnzeels

Beautifully curated and installed by the artists, and continuing until August 8th, including a guided tour and talk by both from 2-4 pm. This exhibition is well worth seeing. See what 'one line for each day' for a year turned into ...

Meeting some years ago as mature students they embarked on many projects together always in communication but not necessarily collaborating. Tineke now lives in the Netherlands. They are both experimental multidisciplinary artists who take risks constantly. Cally is well known in Oxford and internationally.

I think what I found interesting about this show was the clear almost clinically stark aesthetic of the installation, and on reading and looking and listening to Cally, to hear how both artists push any medium they use to its limits ... Tineke used oil pastels in an extraordinary way to draw the finest horizontal and vertical lines.

Cally's use of her pen is strange and powerful and obsessive.
