Left Hand, Right Hand

Cally Trench is continuing her project of drawing her hands every day. In 2025-2026, she is drawing her own hands, life-size from life, using both hands, and drawing each day for exactly 30 minutes (down from the 45 minutes she allowed herself in 2024-2025, and the one hour in 2023-24).

The drawings are ink on watercolour paper (Fabriano Studio Satin hotpress 300gsm), 23 x 31 cm. The 2025-26 project started on Tuesday 5th August 2025 and will end on Wednesday 4th August 2026.

Nine of the drawings were included in Day after day after day: recent works by Tineke Bruijnzeels and Cally Trench at The North Wall Arts Centre, Oxford, in summer 2026: 073/804; 084/815; 090/821; 100/831; 117/848; 123/854; 131/862; 183/914; and 230/961. These were shown along with nine drawings from each of year 1 and 2 of the project.
