Triple Spin, was performed during Remarkable Place at The Keep in Reading on 25th March. It was a collaboration that formed part of an on-going investigation by Ann Rapstoff, Philip Lee and Cally Trench into zebra crossings - the social intractions that they generate and people's feelings about them. Philip Lee writes: Triple Spin was a performance about zebra crossings, without a zebra crossing. We started with Ann Rapstoff, dressed in white, painting my body's white stripes, and Cally Trench, dressed in black, painting my black stripes. Once the top of my head was painted orange, I had become a living Belisha Beacon. The response to the promenade performance from the spectators was one of bewildered amusement and surprise as we continued our ritual crossings of imaginary crossings out on the street, and when lamb's bleats and train noises came from devices in Cally's pocket, prompting various quirky, theatrical reactions from us all.
