Soon it will be the thirtieth anniversary of my self-employed status as a musician, but I don't think I'll be celebrating my Jubilee. I have found my time pursuing the career that I chose as a boy difficult and often heartbreaking, but from time to time it brings rewards such as I can't imagine in any other walk of life. A love-hate relationship, then.
I don't consider myself particularly gifted. I know so many musicians whose talent seems to fairly drip from their fingers. I'm not one of those. But I love music as much as anyone I know, and as such I have often pressed a project harder and further than others might. It's just through Love.
